As part of its plan to open 14 new hotels in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 2019 and have 100 hotels in the Middle East by 2020, the Rezidor Hotel Group has signed agreements to open two Radisson Blu hotels in Dubai.
The first hotel -- Radisson Blu Hotel, International Media Production Zone (IMPZ), Dubai -- will open in the first quarter of 2019 and will have 356 guest rooms, two restaurants, a bar, and "significant" meeting facilities. The second hotel -- Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Studio City -- also will open in 2019. Located in southwest Dubai, it will have 290 guest rooms, an unspecified number of meeting and event spaces, restaurants, and a nightclub.
Their locations in the IMPZ, a business zone created by Dubai to attract and support media production companies, and Dubai Studio City, which is intended to be the Hollywood of the Middle East, will position the new hotels to specialize in meetings and events for groups in the broadcasting, film production, television, music, and entertainment sectors.
"We are progressing our growth journey in the UAE where Dubai is a key primary market," said Elie Younes, executive vice president and chief development officer of The Rezidor Hotel Group. "We believe the brand promise -- iconic, sophisticated, and stylish -- of Radisson Blu perfectly complements the unique needs of the international media production industry that will be based in these two locations."
