When was the last time a team activity surprised you? A diverse range of authentic experiences is flourishing in Singapore’s eclectic social spaces, historical neighbourhoods and emerging knowledge industries, ready to inspire delegates and elevate MICE programme.
With the launch of the Singapore Incentives & Rewards (INSPIRE) Global 3.0 collection unveiling more than 30 unique experiences, M&C Asia puts on its insiders’ hat and enters hidden doorways into some of the most eye-opening team activities in the city.
Whimsical escape room with a tantalising twist
Themed dishes creatively woven into immersive tales.Hungry for fantastical stories and team puzzles? Escape rooms usually challenge the mind, but rarely stoke the appetite. But an all-new experience flips that formula by weaving dining into immersive stories and puzzles.
The creators of Wonderland Upside Down – an Alice-in-Wonderland-inspired theatrical dining experience – have spun off an all-new escape room game for teams. The suspense kicks in even before the game starts, with participants locating an unmarked door in a back alley shophouse before stepping into a fantastical, topsy-turvy world.
Debuting as part of INSPIRE Global 3.0, teams collaborate to solve puzzles and interact with virtual characters to unlock new rooms. They are served a themed three-course meal, each tied to the unfolding narrative. The 90-minute experience is suitable for groups of up to 250 guests, who will be divided into smaller teams exploring parallel storylines.
This is among Wonderland Upside Down’s variety of MICE-friendly experiences. A more theatrical version – featuring live actors who interact with diners improv style – is also available to corporate groups of around 100 pax, with six themed courses served over two hours.
Insider access to tomorrow’s food systems
The Future Farm Experience takes delegates to a greenhouse, agriculture laboratory and other scientific test beds at Republic Polytechnic. In another unexpected turn, this tour takes corporate groups back to school – this time to visit experimental greenhouses and agritech labs normally hidden from public view. At Republic Polytechnic, the Future Farm Experience peels back the curtain on cutting-edge R&D that could one day transform farming practices and fortify food security for generations to come, while spotlighting examples of farming ingenuity that have sprouted in land-scarce Singapore. Delegates gain an insider look at scientific test beds for future foods, including an experimental urban farming greenhouse, an agricultural laboratory and even a bootstrapped insect farming facility.
Examples of innovations include the “moving gully system”, which moves plants from seed to harvest at pre-programmed intervals to optimise resources and maximise yield. Efficient vertical farming, aquaponic and hydroponic systems are also on display, alongside opportunities to sample lesser-known produce such as a variety of Mustard Greens that delivers a surprising wasabi-like kick.
Gain insider access to frontier agricultural methods as they are being studied in laboratories and greenhouses outside of public view.Organised by alternative-protein start-up Altimate Foods, the tour also includes opportunities to learn about the emerging future food industry – complete with tastings of insect-based snacks for the adventurous. Beyond novelty, the experience offers meaningful insights into sustainability, resilience and innovation – aligning incentive programmes with broader ESG and learning objectives.
Cultural fusion on the plate
The INSPIRE Global 3.0 curation of attractions, tours, teambuilding and dining experiences unearths many such local gems in unexpected places where planners don’t typically look.
Unique culinary concepts include The White Label, which serves halal-certified French-Malayan cuisine. Tucked away in a colonial-style hotel within Singapore’s historical and cultural precinct of Kampong Gelam, the restaurant impresses with its delicate fusion of European sophistication and Malayan flavours – a balance reflected in its elegant décor accented by charming textures and motifs.

Shaking up learning in new ways
Not all learning needs to happen in a boardroom. Singapore’s incentive landscape increasingly brings education into immersive, real-world settings.
The Digital Government, Smart Nation Tour is an eye-opening experience by Woopa Travels that offers behind-the-scenes insights into frontier technologies that power one of the world’s most advanced smart cities – bringing policy, innovation and urban planning to life on the ground.
Shake, Stir, Sling: A Cocktail Workshop at The Mirabilis Bar, Faber Peak. Credit: Mount Faber Leisure GroupEqually engaging is a cocktail-making workshop at The Mirabilis Bar at Faber Peak, where delegates learn about tools and techniques in the time-honoured cocktail craft, as well as the story behind the iconic Singapore Sling, while mixing and sipping their own creations against panoramic views of the Harbourfront district.
