The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) debuted the latest edition of the Hong Kong Pulse 3D Light Show last week. Running until August 28, the show has been expanded to cover not only the façade of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre but also the entire space within its open piazza. The 3D visual spectacle provides vivid imagery with 60 laser beams projected from all sides of the piazza.
Part of Hong Kong Summer Fun, the new show is designed to highlight the city's summer vibe. To heighten the party-like ambience, Australian choreographer Katie Cesaro composed an upbeat dance performance involving fibre optic-laced costumes.
In addition to the new light show, the former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower will be transformed into an interactive "Fun-O-Meter" and will project a range of playful emojis when activated by spectators.
In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, the HKTB commissioned a consultancy firm to measure carbon emissions of the show to make it carbon neutral.
The Hong Kong Pulse 3D Light Show takes place at 8:20pm, 8:45pm, 9:15pm and 9:45pm nightly.
