Dusit Thani Manila, located in the heart of Makati city, has undergone an extensive revamp, completing the first phase of its "full top-to-bottom facelift" as of the beginning of this year.
The premier hospitality brand's five-star property in the Philippines has mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. While some praise the lavish Thai-style hospitality, others complain of a musty smell and aging, defective rooms. But next time you go, be sure to request a renovated room.
As part of its makeover, the property has fully renovated 200 of its 537 rooms and suites, and added new function rooms and dining outlets including the 900sqm exclusive Dusit Club Lounge atop the hotel where guests can wine and dine whilst feasting their eyes on panoramic bird's eye views of Makati cityscape, and new MICE facilities - the Sarika and Mayuree grand ballrooms which are ideal for galas and conventions.
Dusit Thani also unveiled its new all-day dining restaurant, The Pantry, which boasts "farm-to-fork dining" with Mediterranean, Spanish, Filipino and Asian cuisines made from locally sourced fair trade goods and organic ingredients, a Grab & Go takeaway counter for people on the go and, in true Filipino style, a live lechon pit and carving station.
Dusit Thani Manila, which was chosen as one of the official hotels for ATF Manila 2016 delegates, has also received a literal facelift on its 45-degree frontage overlooking Makati City.
