Wellness: Turkish delights in Phuket

Wooed by Turkish ways, Amatara Resort & Wellness introduces the first luxury Thai hamman, which blends traditional Turkish and Moroccan bathing practices with the wisdom and gentleness of authentic Thai spa healing arts.

The Turkish-style wet sauna, now augmented with elements such as Thai massage and 100 percent organic Thai herbal treatments, begins with a traditional sauna and takes guests through an extensive, invigorating treatment that includes a "Thai hammam" massage, healing and detoxifying thermal mud baths, and a relaxation period in a Himalayan Salt cave relaxation zone, and finally, Amatara's Signature Massage.

The hammam's architectural design weaves elements of Turkish and Moroccan influences with modern Asian style and ornate Thai luxury - cascading mosaics and modern, clean geometry, highlighted with gold-coloured Turkish fittings and accents.

Amatara Resort & Wellness, Phuket - recently rebranded from Regent Phuket Cape Panwa - has been nominated for this year's World Luxury Spa Awards. From March 2016 onwards, the 150-minute Thai Hammam experience is offered along with any wellness package stay at Amatara Resort & Wellness for 5,900 baht (US$167). Wellness packages start from 8,300 baht (US$235).
