The opening of Le Méridien Qingdao West Coast Resort in Qingdao, Shandong province, marks the second Le Méridien property in the port city, which has long served as a regional hub for commerce. Offering expansive views of the Yellow Sea thanks to the hotel's beachfront location, the property is located in an emerging commercial and business district and the prime residential area of Huangdao.
"We are thrilled to unveil Qingdao as a vibrant resort destination," said Wolfgang Boettcher, Starwood's vice president of operations in North China. "Le Méridien Qingdao West Coast Resort reflects a compelling juxtaposition of nature and cultural elements with contemporary art and design, bringing the local environment to life with carefully curated experiences."
The hotel boasts six versatile meeting rooms and nearly 2,900 square meters of contemporary function space which includes an 880-square-meter grand ballroom. Stylish and contemporary guestrooms and suites feature signature Le Méridien beds and balconies with views of the Yellow Sea. The resort is also equipped with a fitness centre and indoor swimming pool.
Le Méridien Qingdao West Coast has three dining venues including Latest Recipe, an all-day dining restaurant that offers a selection of international cuisines as well as breakfast; Le Mei, an authentic Chinese restaurant; and Latitude 35 which offers a selection of coffee, wines and cocktails.
Le Méridien Qingdao West Coast Resort is 62 kilometres away from Liuting International Airport and 16 kilometres from the city's main commercial and business district.
