Inspiring ideas begin with a hearty appetite and a tantalising backdrop at Kerry Hotel, Pudong, Shanghai, which features a three-in-one showcase comprising a multi-cuisine restaurant, a steakhouse, a microbrewery, and a collection of private dining rooms served by butlers.
The Cook is the main restaurant with 13 live cooking stations and a gourmet delicatessen, seating 365 pax, including an outdoor patio. The menu includes Asian noodles and barbecue; Shanghainese dim sum; Japanese sushi, sashimi and yakitori; an organic vertical salad bar and butchers' block; a coffee counter and beverage bar; a patisserie; a wine cellar and a cheese vault. This vast space presents possibilities for a food-themed treasure hunt, a cooking class or other culinary-related team building activity.
The day's activities could culminate in The Brew for happy hour, a craft brewery with signature beers created by a resident brew master. A casual ambience is provided for 195 pax, with live music entertainment and sports broadcast programmes for delegates to unwind. Available on tap are six handcrafted beers and one cider.
For VIP groups or management meetings, The Meat, a steakhouse and speciality grill for 112 pax, or the Blossoms would provide the setting for private meetings and discussions. A highlight at The Meat is the ageing room for the large selection of premium beef, presided over by an inhouse butcher. For an exclusive experience, The Master's Table, a private dining room for 14 pax is available.
An Asian experience is available at Blossoms, which is ideal for traditional business entertaining. Four private dining rooms served by dedicated butlers are available. Bespoke Cantonese menus are created by the Hong Kong chef de cuisine, accompanied by a sommelier's recommendations for wine pairing.
