Innovation is the focus of upcoming conferences that will be staged in Brisbane over the next six months.
These conferences include ACM SIGCHI Conference on Designing Interactive Systems, a premier international forum where designers, systems engineers, psychologists, user experience researchers, artists and other experts converge to debate and shape the future of interactive systems design; The International Federation on Ageing 13th Global Conference, which will continue to advance its agendas on age-friendly cities and communities, aged care, elder abuse and income protection as well as disasters in an ageing world; and the AHRI National Convention and Exhibition, Australia's flagship event for HR professionals and managers, which aims to attract more than 3000 attendees.
The line-up highlights the benefits of conferences well beyond the visitor economy, according to Rob Nelson, general manager, Brisbane Convention Bureau. "In addition to providing immediate economic impact for Brisbane through venue bookings, hotel bookings, event services, the use of our taxis and dining in our restaurants and bars, these business events also serve as platforms to ignite new ideas and stimulate the knowledge economy, which is crucial to our city's long-term prosperity," he said.
