Taking away the pain points of travel

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) recently announced the results of the Holiday Inn Small Business Traveler Study. Conducted by Kelton Global, the findings reveal the perks and pain points small business travellers face.

Affordability is key when it comes to small business travellers, and most feel that it is more difficult and time-consuming for them to book affordable business travel compared to bigger companies. As a result of these difficulties they often pay more for travel.

According to the study, more than 94 percent of small business travellers said they would be interested in staying at a hotel with a rewards offer exclusively for small business travellers, and nearly a third feel as though currently they are not treated as well as large companies when it comes to business travel.

In light of the results from the survey, the Holiday Inn brand and IHG Rewards Club are introducing the Inn Business offer.

The Inn Business offer awards small business travellers with elite status in IHG Rewards Club during their first year of membership following just a one-night stay at any Holiday Inn hotel property. Elite status offers perks such as complimentary room upgrades, priority check-in and late check-out, and the ability to earn reward nights faster.

"Hotels are a business traveller's home away from home when they're on the road, and small business employees told us they want assistance to make their lives easier from booking through check-out," said Eric Lent, Vice President, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza®, The Americas, IHG.

In addition to earning elite status faster through the Holiday Inn's new Inn Business promotion, IHG has also introduced Your Rate by IHG Rewards Club to make it easier for travellers to save time and money by booking direct.
