Last week Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK), a branch of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), announced the winners for the 2015/2016 Top Agents Awards Programme (TAAP).
The TAAP, which began in 2012, rewards top-performing travel agencies that take MICE groups to Hong Kong in three key markets - China, India and Indonesia. In an effort to promote Hong Kong as a leading MICE destination in the region, it is crucial for the HKTB to work closely with the leading agencies in these markets.
Flash Mop Dance. Representatives of the winning travel agencies were invited to Hong Kong to participate in a five-day familiarisation trip, which included a variety of activities and tours to new MICE spaces in Hong Kong, which included the Hong Kong Sports Institute and Hong Kong Science Park.
The trip wrapped up with an awards ceremony that recognized the agencies' achievements in helping promote Hong Kong as a premier MICE destination. Winning agencies include 30 from China, 10 from India and six from Indonesia.
The ceremony brought together agencies and partners from the travel trade to celebrate the achievements of the agencies as well as to offer a valuable networking opportunity.
Next year's TAAP will include South Korea.
