Delegates who step into Dallas Restaurant and Bar at the sky garden of Suntec City Mall might find themselves unexpectedly lulled by good old American comfort food in a smart casual setting. Just steps away from Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, it's perfect for stealing quick meetings in a posh atmosphere accompanied by comfort fare and "very happy" hours which start bright and early at 11 am and continue until 8 pm with house poured wines and spirits for only S$12++ (US$9) and Stella Artois and San Miguel for only S$14++ (US$11) per pint.
Australian chef and owner Jason Pope's creative dishes are cheerful, comforting and stylishly presented. His vast culinary repertoire included a stint at a luxury resort in the Cayman islands, which influenced his use of brightly coloured ingredients. Bright orange homemade pineapple chutney tops the Snapper Fish Tacos, whilst the Jalapeno Croquettes come with a fiery green chili mayonnaise and chipotle-mayonnaise Grilled Corn adds a tantalising bright yellow.
Seductive red tomatoes dot the corners of sumptuous dishes such as the two-to-four person Dallas Meat Platter with lamb cutlets, pork ribs, rotisserie chicken and prime rib steak - the latter consisting of 100-day grain fed Australian beef lightly seasoned and slow roasted for 15 hours before being sliced and finished on the grill. On weekends, guests can enjoy free-flow of this premium cut at only S$35 (US$26) per guest. But those with less love for meat need not feel left out. A light, grilled BBQ Barramundi caters to those who prefer non-meat dishes.
Vibrancy is the theme in this glass house-style restaurant, where natural light streams in from three sides through special temperature-controlled glass that keeps the venue from overheating and combines with sleek leather furniture and red-highlighted interior for a perky, vivacious wine-kissed setting.
The restaurant accommodates two sizes of events - 85 pax for a standing cocktail set-up, and approximately 70 pax for a sit-down set-up in its private dining area, or 250 - 300 guests for cocktail parties and corporate affairs in the main restaurant area.
A meeting package for the private dining area starts from S$2,000++ (US$1,486) for lunch/day service or up to S$5,000++ (US$3,715) for dinner events. The restaurant also offers various packages such as an a la carte canapes package, a two-hour free-flow canapes package, as well as a two-hour free-flow buffet package.
Dallas also caters to Formula One and sports enthusiasts. With a location close to the annual Singapore Night Race course, large TV screens at the bar and outdoors as well as a 3x2 metre large screen in the private dining area make the restaurant ideal for sports fans and screenings of crucial sporting events.
