Tucked away in a small local market in the suburban town of Nakhon Pathom is an "ice cream juggling shop" which features a special show by local resident Tasanarat Tikampornthip, resident "ice-cream juggler," who has been "juggling" ice cream and serving it to guests "kung fu" style for over 26 years.
The show features scoops of ice cream tossed up seven to eight metres into the air by Tasanarat - who catches each scoop neatly in an ice cream bowl without fail each time, before handing it to each guest. The show also occasionally features martial arts moves by her brother Apichart Chaipruekchart, a former stuntman.
The ice cream stall is a 42-year-old family business inherited from their father, whose sons and daughter perfected the art as a sales tactic to draw in visitors. The shop soon skyrocketed to fame in the locale, leading many visitors from Bangkok to make the 80km drive to see the show.
The first and last pair in Thailand to perform such an art - in the past their elder brother also performed with them before he passed away - the duo have also been invited to perform abroad in Japan and Singapore. They have been featured on local as well as international TV shows.
After over 26 years of performing at her family's ice cream stall in Nakhon Pathom, Tasanarat has retired from her daily performance and now makes her show available mainly in special gigs such as private and corporate events, school fairs, weddings and such.
