Pattaya raises incentives profile

Na Jomtien beach Pattaya has a newcomer, and that is Veranda Resort Pattaya, MGallery by Sofitel. The 145-room seafarer themed offering by Accor Hotels highlights the city's fishing heritage in boutique style.

"Pattaya is a strategic destination, and we have seen significant growth in the city's tourism industry over the past few years," said Patrick Basset, COO for AccorHotels, Upper Southeast and Northeast Asia.

MGallery by Sofitel, the hotel chain's boutique brand, features sky pool villas and bathroom accessories by the Thai herbal spa brand THANN, as well as the rooftop I Sea Sky restaurant and bar and a fishing village themed pool bar.

Two meeting rooms comprise 300 square metres of conference space able to accommodate up to 220 persons.

"Veranda Resort Pattaya offers visitors a quiet alternative for relaxation, whether their purpose is business or leisure," said Panit Boonyaratvej, the hotel's general manager, indicating the hotel's plan to attract more incentive meeting groups as well as leisure travellers.

During its opening period, the hotel offers a special rate starting at US$128 per night from now until April 30. The offer includes one night in a Seascape Room with breakfast for two. Usual rates start at US$192.

AccorHotels manages a total of six hotels and resorts in Pattaya.
