HUNAN — Accor has launched it 39th Pullman property in Greater China, in the ancient Chinese city of Yueyang, Hunan province.

“A lot of people think development is stopping because of this crisis, but in actual fact our development team has seen almost as many signings in the first six months of this year [as previous years],” Gaynor Reid, Accor vice president communications & CSR, Asia Pacific, told M&C Asia.

Singling out China and Vietnam as countries where the development pipeline is still going strong, Reid said “there’s still a lot of confidence in the long term" expected of the region. "Things will improve, and the fact that we’re seeing all these developments is a positive sign.”

Overlooking the famous Dongting Lake, Pullman Yueyang is a quick 35-minute drive from Yueyang Sanhe Airport, 30 minutes from Yueyang East Railway Station, and just 8km from the central business district.

Offering 213 rooms, most of which with balconies granting panoramic lake views, the hotel also features 2,800 sqm of event space, and an impressive  2,000 sqm outdoor swimming pool.

“Pullman Yueyang, as the only internationally renowned premium branded hotel in the city, will help accelerate the development of the city’s business sector with unique brand concept and facilities to support meetings, conferences and events,” said Gary Rosen, chairman and chief operating officer, Accor Greater China.

In addition, Pullman’s signature Art at Play — which aims to enhance work-life balance via creative experiences — will go hand-in-hand with its meetings equivalent: Meet & Play. The hotel's flexible event space includes 15 meeting rooms that can be configured for large-scale conferences or intimate meets. Planners should also consider networking sessions or an al fresco dinner event on the lawn — a casual and relaxed space, with stunning lake views.
