Hilton is set to make its debut in Batam with the signing of a 199-key Hilton Garden Inn, scheduled to open in 2028.
Hilton Garden Inn Batam City Centre will be developed by PT Sabang Raya Investama in the heart of Batam, with access to the city’s commercial, retail and administrative hubs in Lubuk Baja and Batam Centre.
While Batam is primarily seen as a shorthaul destination for visitors from Singapore and Malaysia seeking affordable weekend getaways, it is also benefiting from government, industrial and MICE demand, according to Hilton.
In a statement, Hilton said that the property is well-positioned to serve increasing demand from corporate travellers, meetings and events, weekend leisure visitors, wellness and golf travellers, as well as guests visiting the island for medical-related stays.
Rising within Batam’s core Central Business District, the hotel will also be within reach of Batam’s ferry terminals, which provide direct connections to Singapore and Malaysia, as well as Hang Nadim International Airport.
When open, the hotel will feature more than 900sqm of meeting and event space, comprising a ballroom and six meeting rooms.
Other planned facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, bar, fitness centre and swimming pool.
