At a cost of RM100 million spent on a total property renovation, a Kuala Lumpur city five-star hotel landmark, revealed its chic, upscale new interiors to some privileged guests that included members of the media on Aug 1, 2019.
The Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences (Pullman KLCC) treated some 250 guests to a night of entertainment, canapés and drinks, and lucky draws, during their "Glow Up" event launch hosted by its general manager, Wolfgang Kiesel.
The new features included a stylish and arresting lobby, 607 brand new guestrooms and residences (guestrooms take up 450 rooms), Executive Club Lounge, a new stunning modern with a strong nod to heritage, Chinese specialty restaurant, a modified Japanese restaurant with space for private events, a new all-day dining restaurant and a sophisticated yet warm bar.
"The renovation enhances the hotel's relevance and competitiveness in the market, while we continue our commitment to provide a renewed push for today's business travellers, whether they are here for business or leisure.
"Our renovation was also planned to be in line with Tourism Malaysia's objective of offering accommodation and meeting facilities to enhance the Malaysian share market for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE). As a key ASEAN destination for tourism, it is important for hoteliers like us to be at the leading edge of the competition," said Kiesel.
To note are its newly refurbished spaces for events and meetings with a Grand Ballroom offering a space of 589.1 sqm (with a capacity for 1,000 pax (theatre and reception arrangement), 480 pax for banquets and down to 84 pax for boardroom seating). The space can also be split into two smaller rooms of equal space.
There are also nine other meeting rooms that combine into a total of 656.36sqm, which can be joined into many different combinations of spaces, including breakout rooms. There are also VIP areas with a total space of 87.7sqm and a total foyer space for event and pre-function space of 250sqm including some private areas for more intimate breakout sessions.
The swimming pool and bar area shared by hotel guests and residences also is an available space as is the residence lounge that even includes a movie room.
