AUCKLAND - The delay to Park Hyatt Auckland's opening will soon be over. It was originally scheduled to open in early 2019 but will now be open for bookings from June 2020. Located on the water's edge with views across Wynyard Quarter's Lighter Basin and Waitematā Harbour, the 195-room hotel will offer 2,032 sqm of meeting and event space, multiple breakout spaces, 195 guestrooms including 23 suites, and can host cocktails for up to 400 pax. Suite sizes range from 71 to 254 sqm. Average room rates will start from US$300.

The size of guest rooms is nearly double the size of rooms/suites available in Auckland 5-star hotels, said Ms Vidhya Raithatha, the hotel's spokesperson and all event spaces have water views.

The hotel will be targeting high-end and boutique MICE events rather than large conferences. Its Masters of Food & Wine program will feature a series of sophisticated culinary and beverage experiences that are immersive and engaging.

F&B will include Onemata, The Living Room, The Pantry, and Captain's Bar, where classic cocktails with a local twist are produced.
