A new meetings programme focused on sustainability has been unveiled for Crossroads Maldives, billed as the largest integrated resort in the Maldives that will open in phases starting this summer.

Imaginative meetings concepts at the resort destination will be promoted under the tagline "Fun, Wild and Free".

The resort destination comprises nine islands surrounding the Emboodhoo Lagoon in the South Malé Atoll, with SAii Lagoon Maldives and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives the first two properties to open during the first phase of the project this summer.

The indoor Crossroads Event Hall will be able to host over 400 guests.

Both properties will be directly linked by footbridges to an 800m lifestyle area and beach walk, which features cafés and restaurants, fashion boutiques, a spa and entertainment, as well as a multi-purpose event space capable of hosting over 400 guests.

The 326sqm indoor venue will feature high ceilings, state-of-the-art technology, professional planning and catering services, and can be section into three separate venues.

Planners can expect to hold environmental and social activities at SAii Lagoon Maldives, which features Hilton Worldwide's "Meet with Purpose" concept that enables groups to reduce waste and incorporate health and wellness into their events.

Highlights include unique beachfront boardrooms, water sports and wellness. The 198-key property also offers two stylish restaurants, a pool deck, and a Café del Mar beach club.

Conversely, planners can opt for more music and fitness themed activities at Hard Rock Hotel Maldives. At the 178-key resort, groups will be able to participate in the brand's signature activities such as a guitar programme, Picks by Sound of Your Stay, where delegates can collaborate on a music project. Action seekers will be able to work up a sweat at fitness sessions such as yoga, martial arts, self-defence, jiujitsu and circus skills.

Other brand signature offerings include a Hard Rock Cafe, Rock Spa, two Rock Shops showcasing merchandise and music memorabilia.

"Crossroads Maldives will change the way MICE planners think about corporate events. We understand that the best way to reach your company's meeting goals, both in the short- and long-term, is by forging bonds of friendship and trust between team members,"  Dirk De Cuyper, chief hospitality officer of S Hotels & Resorts.
