Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur added 466 keys and the first rooftop bar in the TRX lifestyle district, the capital's newest international financial and business hub.
Just over a month into Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026), Kuala Lumpur's thriving tourism sector is already witnessing a strong follow-through from last year's surge in new hotel launches and refurbishments.
This sixth edition of Malaysia's flagship tourism campaign, VM2026 is expected to welcome more than 47 million visitors, and the projected RM329 billion (US$84.3 billion) visitor receipts stand to boost occupancy ratios and room rates as well as the MICE segment.
“Together with the recent Kuala Lumpur – Johor Bahru ETS service launch, these encouraging projections bode well for the industry," says BE Lim, the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) KL Chapter chairperson.
"While notable new properties like Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur and Marriott Executive Apartments have contributed to 2025's strong showing of 46,597 cumulative hotel rooms, some 1,000 more will be added this year when hotels like Regent Kuala Lumpur, Conrad Kuala Lumpur and Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur are ready," Lim who is also the Cititel Mid Valley general manager adds.
Lim attributes this strong showing to sound government policies including significant tax-breaks, various visa-friendly incentives and robust infrastructure.
The newly opened Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur is also set to introduce a dedicated meetings and events venue, Connection Hub, according to general manager Paul Cunningham, as the property looks to capture higher-value business events demand.

Apart from new hotel openings, Kuala Lumpur is also seeing its fair share of established brands embarking on scheduled refurbishment exercises to provide returning guests with new experiences, refreshed facilities and added comfort.
Among these are St. Giles Mid Valley Kuala Lumpur and St. Giles Gardens Residences Kuala Lumpur. Strategically anchored to Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall, two of Malaysia's most iconic shopping destinations, their combined room and conference inventories offers improved hospitality options for those visiting Kuala Lumpur.
When it reopens on 1 April, St. Giles Mid Valley Kuala Lumpur (known previously as St. Giles Gardens Hotel Kuala Lumpur) will launch 448 redesigned rooms while St. Giles Gardens Residences Kuala Lumpur provides 183 units, ranging from one to three bedrooms.
"At St. Giles Mid Valley Kuala Lumpur, MICE participants can look forward to meeting and conference facilities ranging from the 600-delegate capacity grand Gardens Ballroom to a choice of nine Skyview Rooms on Levels 28 and 29 offering panoramic city view and natural daylight," explains general manager Simon Yong.
