Swiss hospitality brand Mövenpick's newest addition is a wellness oasis in the urban Thai capital of Bangkok.

Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok opens doors in downtown Sukhumvit within 1.2-acres of lush landscape gardens that date back over a century. The 293-key property takes over the space of the former Nai Lert Park Hotel.

The hospitality group has partnered with BDMS Wellness Clinic, a private healthcare provider, to provide a total wellness experience for guests.

There will be in-room amenities such as yoga mats and a dedicated fitness TV channel, organic foods served at the resort's restaurant, Tamarind Natural Dining. Adjacent to the property, guests can opt for preventive healthcare treatments, including physiotherapy, digestive wellness, dental and fertility treatments at the BDMS Wellness Clinic.

The property also packs extensive meetings and events space that spans over 2,000sqm of indoor space, including a grand ballroom and six meeting rooms. For evening cocktails, planners have the option of an outdoor garden area.

"In recent years, Thailand's capital city has become a popular destination for medical tourism and the opening of Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok gives travellers an added choice with its central location and leading wellness and MICE facilities," said Bruno Huber, general manager, Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok.

"We are delighted to bring a hotel inspired by such a unique wellness concept into the heart of the city, where our guests can relax within lush green gardens whilst enjoying convenient access to the BDMS Wellness Clinic," said Patrick Basset, chief operating officer of Accor for Upper Southeast & Northeast Asia and the Maldives.

Leisure facilities include an outdoor pool and a fitness centre with equipment designed by DAVID Health Solutions. A spa and a Thai specialty restaurant will also open at the end of the year.

The resort is located 10-minutes away from Ploenchit BTS skytrain station, and within close reach of major shopping malls and restaurants.
