Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Center has become the first convention centre in Southeast Asia to receive ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for its information security management system.
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 sets requirements for managing information-security risks and protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, systems and services.
At QSNCC, the certified scope includes the data centre and core IT systems, identity and access management, and wired and wireless internet services provided to customers.
QSNCC chief executive Surapol Utintu said: “Information security is not simply about preventing data breaches. It also means maintaining data integrity and ensuring that systems and services remain continuously available.”
Surapol added that effective protection depended on people, processes, technology and infrastructure working together, particularly for international events and large organisations that require reliable systems and strict data safeguards.
The venue is due to host the 2026 IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings from 12 to 18 October.
QSNCC also holds ISO certifications for quality management, food-safety management, sustainable event management and organisational greenhouse-gas accounting.
