SEOUL - A river cruise on the Hangang River, dining at a K-pop-themed restaurant and a visit to a warehouse turned art gallery are the unique experiences in Seoul being promoted for MICE groups.

Seoul Tourism Organization and Seoul MICE Alliance had partnered to co-market some 60 unique venues in the city. Groups were invited to experience three of the city's unique venues.

River cruise company Eland Cruise, an established company that has operated for more than 30 years, took groups on a scenic evening river cruise on the Hangang River. Highlights of the cruise included sights of the city's tallest fountain accompanied by food and drinks on board.

Culture curious groups were shuttled to Seongsu-dong to visit a trendy gallery café Baesan, a former warehouse building that had been converted into a gallery space that hosts exhibitions by young artists.

A director at Seoul Convention Bureau Jihyun Kim commented that the event not only promised exclusive experiences for MICE groups, but promoted a deeper understanding of the MICE industry to the public.

"Unique Venues of Seoul has a lot to offer for both international and domestic visitors. With the citizen's understanding of the MICE tourism, we believe the industry will gain the sustainability in business. We will keep promoting our Seoul MICE Alliance members to international MICE groups as well as local citizens," she added.
