Minor Hotels has appointed hospitality veteran Judd Rabbidge as GM of Avani Singapore Hotel, the group's first property in Singapore, ahead of its scheduled opening in 2Q 2027.
Rabbidge brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience across Australia, the Maldives, Indonesia, Fiji and Europe.
He was most recently GM at Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort, where he has helmed the property since joining the group in July 2024.
Before joining Minor Hotels, he was hotel manager at W Sydney, overseeing the pre-opening and launch of the 588-room property. He was also director of sales and marketing at W Bali – Seminyak from 2018 to 2022.
In Singapore, Rabbidge will lead the pre-opening and launch, overseeing team recruitment, operational readiness, commercial strategy and guest experience. He will also work with Minor Hotels’ regional and corporate teams to position the new hotel in the market.
“My priority is to build a strong team and create a hotel experience that reflects both Avani’s personality and the character of the city,” Rabbidge said.
Avani’s Singapore debut
Scheduled to open in Q2 2027, Avani Singapore Hotel will mark Minor Hotels' entry into the Singapore market.
The 200-key property will be located at 24 Peck Seah Street in Tanjong Pagar, within walking distance of the Central Business District and Chinatown.
Developed in partnership with Singapore-based Kajima Development and Abu Dhabi-based Al Wathba Investment, the 14-storey hotel will feature a pool deck, AvaniFit gym and several dining concepts, with a contemporary design blending with the character of the surrounding historic shophouse district.
The development will also include a pedestrian link connecting Peck Seah Street and Tras Street, while offering convenient access to public transport, with Tanjong Pagar and Maxwell MRT stations both within a short walk.
