Batam’s first integrated resort, Opus Bay, is set to begin its phased opening come December.

About 45 minutes by ferry from Singapore, the waterfront development in eastern Batam spans around 125ha, Singapore-based developer Tuan Sing Group first announced in 2021.

Batam’s largest hotel minutes from a private terminal

The first stage will introduce Marina Bay Ferry Cove and the progressive opening of the Residence on Opus Bay hotel from December 2026.

The private terminal is about a three-minute walk from the hotel, allowing arriving passengers to reach the resort without a separate land transfer.

At Residence on Opus Bay, Balmoral Tower features 493 rooms across 35 storeys and nine categories, from studios to two-bedroom suites.

Rooms are planned with private balconies, kitchenettes, washer-dryers and an AI-powered digital concierge.

Meanwhile, Cluny Resorts is scheduled to follow in 2027. The all-villa retreat will have 57 villas in seven categories, ranging from 169sqm one-bedroom units to a 548sqm three-bedroom Grand Villa. Most villas will have private pools, and buggy services will connect the property with the promenade and ferry terminal.

Events spaces

For meetings and events, Residence on Opus Bay will offer flexible spaces with high-speed connectivity. This makes it suitable for board meetings, corporate offsites, workshops, product launches and executive retreats.

The wider convention infrastructure at Residence on Opus Bay is intended to support events ranging from smaller gatherings to conferences of up to 500 guests.

Wedding and social-event options will include garden ceremonies, beachside receptions and ballroom banquets. Opus Hall is planned as the larger venue within the resort community, while indoor and outdoor spaces will accommodate private celebrations and corporate functions.

Shops and courts

By early 2027, the Bay Boulevard Marina Promenade is expected to add close to 80 stores across 10,000sqm. Plans include concept stores, alfresco dining, a food hall serving local and seafood dishes, and a supermarket.

A Sports Park will feature three padel courts and four pickleball courts, with seating, showers and a food kiosk. Together, these facilities are designed to keep accommodation, dining, recreation and events within the same waterfront precinct.

Within 10 minutes of the resort, guests can discover Saung Budaya Batam and Puncak Beliung or tee off at Batam Hills Golf Resort, while two more golf clubs and the iconic Barelang Bridge are 25 to 30 minutes away. Shoppers will find Batam's best-known malls, including Grand Batam Mall, Batam City Square and K-Square, within 30 to 35 minutes, and Hang Nadim International Airport is 45 minutes away.
