IHG Hotels & Resorts will bring Holiday Inn Resorts to Luang Prabang in 2027, marking IHG’s first hotel in the UNESCO-listed destination.
Set on Naluang Hill, Holiday Inn Resort Luang Prabang Naluang Hill will offer views across Luang Prabang and convenient access to the city’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ancient Town and cultural attractions.
More than 500sqm of meeting space has been planned to cater to small-to-medium-sized events, incentives and corporate retreats.
The resort’s facilities will include four food and beverage venues, a swimming pool, fitness centre and spa.
IHG said improving air and rail links are strengthening Luang Prabang’s appeal. The destination is served by Luang Prabang International Airport and high-speed rail connections, while attractions include Mount Phousi, Kuang Si Falls, Pak Ou Caves and Mekong River experiences.
Shi’ai Liang, IHG’s senior director of development for South East Asia and Korea, said the company sees opportunities in destinations that combine authentic cultural connections with world-class hospitality, adding that “Luang Prabang is also benefiting from improving connectivity and growing demand for meetings, incentives and corporate retreats”.
Chen Yichao, director of Naluang International Resort and Hotel Limited, added that the partners aim to create a hilltop resort that reflects Luang Prabang’s character and caters to leisure stays, celebrations, corporate retreats and meetings.
IHG’s Laos portfolio currently includes the Crowne Plaza Vientiane and Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane, totalling 471 rooms.
