The business events destination that makes everyone feel at ease

In an age of growing expectations, Taiwan shows how business events can be modern, meaningful, and inclusive.

Gone are the days when venue size and available space were the sole criteria for choosing a destination. Today, the bar is higher. Hospitality, service culture, and inclusivity are just as important as infrastructure and logistics. Organisers and participants are looking for destinations that make them feel welcome – places that understand and proactively accommodate diverse needs, embedding inclusive thinking into every element of the event experience.

That demand is only increasing. From halal-certified facilities for the growing number of international Muslim travellers – which is expected to reach 250 million by 2030, according to the Mastercard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index 2025 – to a heightened focus on mobility aids, sensory comfort, and universal design, today’s global delegates expect business events that are inclusive of diverse backgrounds.

Inclusivity in everyday practice

In democratic and open Taiwan, the values of inclusivity are part of everyday life – a major strength when it comes to hosting events that attract participants from around the world. Modern, progressive, and internationally minded, Taiwanese people are adaptable, warm, multilingual, and always ready to embrace new cultures – this attitude is evident not just in venues, but throughout the destination.

Taiwan’s deeply rooted culture of inclusion and human-centred values make it an outstanding choice for safe, welcoming, and attentive business events. With a social atmosphere that is open and respectful toward different identities and cultures, Taiwan is one of the few Asian destinations where equality is genuinely practiced.

For Muslim travellers, Taiwan provides a growing network of halal-certified restaurants, dedicated prayer rooms, and well-trained service staff – from airports to shopping malls, hotels, and event venues. Taipei Grand Mosque welcomes thousands of visitors every year, and the historic Grand Hotel Taipei has long served guests from across the Muslim world. Visitors can even enjoy halal versions of local favourites like beef noodles, fried chicken, and shaved ice.

For event organisers focused on accessibility, Taiwan’s People with Disabilities Rights Protection Act guarantees access to public spaces – including venues and transport – regardless of physical ability. Many business hotels also offer accessible rooms, meeting spaces, and thoughtful design that combine convenience with dignity.

Infrastructure with intention

But inclusion is not just about intent. It also requires strong systems. Taiwan delivers both.
Modern infrastructure plays a key role. Major cities like Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung are connected via high-speed rail and local train networks, supported by efficient metro systems. All four of Taiwan’s international airports are designed with accessibility in mind.

From business hotels and cutting-edge convention centres to globally certified venues, Taiwan’s facilities combine technology, innovation, and universal design. Beyond Taipei, venues such as Messe Taoyuan and Kaohsiung Exhibition Center stand out for their sustainability features and forward-thinking design.

Proof in practice

These strengths are reflected in signature events like the 2025 Asia MICE Forum (AMF), organised by MEET TAIWAN, which returns this September as a platform for cross-cultural exchange and thought leadership.

This year’s theme places people and their needs at the heart of every panel. Subjects this year include “Design the Moment, Drive Innovation” will look at marketing strategies and creativity as the key to creating outstanding events; “Future on Show” examines the synergies between industry and exhibitions; while under the banner “From Venue to Value”, venue operators will discuss design, sustainability and smart technologies.

Participants from International Conference Services, the Paris Air Show and Queen Sirikit National Convention Center are just a few of the organisations that will be represented at the forum, showcasing global diversity.

Why now is the time to choose Taiwan

This year also marks the 20th anniversary of MEET TAIWAN, the island’s convention promotion bureau. For two decades, MEET TAIWAN has championed inclusive, innovative, and globally competitive business events – and it continues to be a trusted partner to international organisers.

What sets business events apart in Taiwan is precisely what MEET TAIWAN values the most: the importance that diversity, equality and inclusion have in Taiwanese society. With a respect for humanity at the centre of all interactions, it clearly reflects in every aspect of daily life, including the business events industry.

What sets Taiwan apart is its embracing and welcoming mindset – where diversity, equality, and human dignity are valued and lived every day. These values aren’t marketing slogans; they are visible in everything from how venues are designed, to how meals are served, to how delegates are treated.

And in a world where meetings are expected to be not just productive but meaningful, Taiwan offers something rare: a place where everyone truly belongs.
