The 373-room Dorsett Kai Tak Hotel boasts a location beside Kai Tak Stadium.
Hong Kong’s hotel landscape is heating up with a new generation of properties tailored to support the city’s dynamic MICE and mega event calendar. Here’s a look at three new properties that bring unique venue combinations and offerings to support meetings, incentives, and large-scale gatherings in the city.
Dorsett Kai Tak Hotel
Since opening in August 2024, the 373-room Dorsett Kai Tak’s location beside Kai Tak Stadium is a strong asset for concert-goers, sports fans, and mega event visitors. It’s well-positioned for extended business stays, arrivals via Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, or MICE visitors opting to skip other events.
Its non-traditional locale can be an advantage. “The grand ballroom, versatile meeting rooms, and prefunction areas provide excellent spaces for various events. The outdoor garden and connection to Kai Tak Sports Park enhance its appeal, creating a retreat-like, comfortable environment,” says Chan.
The hotel’s MICE facilities include a 415 sqm grand ballroom for up to 400, a 609 sqm outdoor podium, a 45 sqm function room for 14, and five private dining rooms at Siete Ocho, plus an alfresco stage for 150. Its Jin Bo Law sky bar can host up to 110 for cocktail events.
Hopewell Hotel
Hopewell Hotel adds 1,000 rooms to Hong Kong’s inventory, with amenities including the 6,500sqm Grand Ballroom.Hopewell Hotel is Hong Kong Island’s newest 1,000-key mega-property, the first of its scale since Regala Skycity in 2023. Located in Wanchai near the HKCEC, it offers rooms and suites ranging from 30 sqm to 361 sqm.
“Hopewell Hotel offers a unique advantage as a side conference venue apart from the HKCEC. This allows for a more intimate setting while still being close to the main events,” says Wincy Wong, Hopewell’s head of events and catering. “The comprehensive facilities and large-scale capacity make it a convenient choice for organisers looking to gather participants in one go.”
Hopewell’s MICE facilities include six column-free spaces totalling 6,500 sqm: a Grand Ballroom accommodating up to 1,800 (with car/truck access); Crystal Court (750); the 58th-floor Summer View 58 (140); and five Salons (45–75 or 210 combined).
