Radisson Hotel Group will be introducing Radisson Blu and Radisson brands to central China with two new hotels: Radisson Blu Wuhan ETD Zone and Radisson Wuhan Optics Valley. Both hotels will be located in the heart of the city's high-tech business and development zones.
As the capital of Hubei province, Wuhan is home to about 10 million people and known as the 'Detroit of the East'. The city also has one of China's largest automotive industries and a thriving manufacturing sector. These factors have, in turn, attracted many major Chinese and international companies to set up shop. "Wuhan is a leading industrial hub in China and developments like ETD Zone and Optics Valley demonstrate how the country is progressing globally in terms of high-tech industry, manufacturing and scientific research," said Katerina Giannouka, president, Asia Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group.
Radisson Blu Wuhan ETD Zone, in particular, is an impressive new lakeside property deep in the heart of Wuhan's Economic & Technological Development Zone. This 355-room hotel will open its doors in the first quarter of 2020 and provide a wide range of facilities, including international, Chinese and Italian restaurants, an indoor swimming pool, spa, fitness centre and children's playground. There are also nine meeting rooms in total, as well as a 1,600 square metre grand ballroom.
Meanwhile, Radisson Wuhan Optics Valley is scheduled to launch in Donghu New Tech Development Zone by June 2024. The property will feature 220 contemporary rooms and suites, completed with an array of facilities like all-day dining restaurants, a speciality Chinese restaurant, lobby lounge and fitness centre. And catering to the area's business guests, the hotel will also provide a business centre, function rooms and a ballroom.
