Pan Pacific Hotels Group has expanded the footprint of its sustainability-focused brand Parkroyal Collection Hotels and Resorts beyond Singapore's shores to Kuala Lumpur.

Located in the Bukit Bintang suburb of the capital, the 527-room Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur opens in a mixed-use complex, which also houses the 210-key Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur, slated to open in the latter half of 2022.

For meeting planners, there is 1,664 sqm of dedicated meeting spaces. The entire development is owned by Singapore-listed UOL Group Limited, Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s parent company.

Designed by DP Architects and FDAT, who also designed Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay, the property’s features place an emphasis on nature and sustainability, with a vertical garden façade incorporating sky planters, roof terraces showcasing 1,208 sqm of foliage and a host of green features.

Biophilic design aside, the hotel also offers environmentally-friendly bathroom amenities, biodegradable packaging, and filtered drinking water. Its all-day dining restaurant, Thyme, serves up Asian and international fare using local seasonal ingredients with an emphasis on sustainable sourcing. The hotel features the nature-inspired The Botanist Lounge & Bar and the alfresco Skye Chill pool bar. A holistic wellness floor encompasses a spa, a gym and fitness studio, as well as an outdoor swimming pool.

Pan Pacific Hotels Group CEO Choe Peng Sum said that the group intends to “push for more eco-conscious hospitality experiences around the world.”
