Oakwood Worldwide has announced that it will open the 185-key Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Shin-Osaka this summer, expanding its footprint in Japan beyond the capital city of Tokyo.
The property is situated within walking distance to the Shin-Osaka Station, a major bullet train station, and will comprise 59 hotel rooms and 126 serviced apartments.
The hotel rooms are furnished with a bed and a work desk whilst the apartments come fully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen. Guest concierge and front desk services, regular housekeeping, as well as high speed internet and fitness gym are also included.
Spearheading the property is Yasuko Sugiyama, who brings with her more than 25 years of experience in hospitality industry. Her career spans various countries in the Asia Pacific region including Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia as well as various regions of Japan.
Prior to joining Oakwood, Sugiyama was area manager for Booking.com, where she managed the offices in Sapporo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Okinawa. She has also had experience managing serviced apartments as well as hotels with Ascott, Fraser, Hotel Parklane as well as Ramada Hotel.
