Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to expand its luxury brands across Asia-Pacific, with 90 properties expected to open over the next five years.
These will include the debut of its Thompson brand in the region alongside new entries and expansion for Andaz, The Standard and Park Hyatt brands, in destinations including Thailand, Malaysia and Australia, with openings expected across 2025 and 2026.
Thompson Shanghai Expo is expected to open in the last quarter of this year, featuring contemporary design, art and innovative gastronomy, and a rooftop with live entertainment and events. The hotel also has one of the largest ballrooms in the World Expo area, The Thompson Hall, spanning 1,100sqm and catering for up to 1,150 guests.
There will be new properties under the Andaz brand with meeting facilities, including Andaz One Bangkok at the edge of the Lumphini Park, part of the One Bangkok development and Andaz Shanghai ITC, in Shanghai’s leading commercial neighborhood.
For meetings with views, head to the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, opening in August 2025. Set atop The Merdeka 118, the tallest skyscraper in Asia Pacific, this is the first Park Hyatt in Malaysia. Meeting spaces are located on levels 98 and 114, with the largest spanning 216sqm, offering plenty of views and natural daylight. The hotel will also feature the Cacao bar, the highest in town and the first chocolate-themed bar in the city.
Delegates can also enjoy views at the 171-room Park Hyatt Tokyo, which will celebrate a 30-year legacy by resuming operations following a comprehensive refinement. The hotel, expected to resume operations in the last quarter of this year, has three function rooms, including a ballroom with a state-of-the-art video wall, catering for up to 300 for receptions.
Park Hyatt will also make its debut in Vietnam, with the opening of Park Hyatt Phu Quoc in the first quarter of 2026. Spanning 160 acres of land bordered by an expansive mile-long white sand beach and hills, guests can look forward to contemporary art and personalised service. The property will have more than 4,300 square feet of event space and an organic farm.
