Entrance to Mandarin Oriental Geneva with views of the Old Town and snow-capped mountains.
Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, which recently unveiled its new meeting
rooms with décor inspired by nature, has also redesigned its rooms and
suites, and is transforming itself into a more modern and
eco-responsible hotel.
The Asian market has been slow in 2023 but demand is expected to
become stronger for Europe from late 2023 and 2024 onwards, said Anthony
Le Mareuil, director of commerce at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva. “We had
the pleasure to host some Asian clients during Watches & Wonders
2023, which shows that the destination of Geneva remains coveted for
luxury events.” Watches & Wonders is a trade show that drew a record
43,000 visitors this year in the city.
Said Le Mareuil: “For 2024, a strong interest from Asia is expected,
supported by the city events such as the Motor Show being potentially
back, Watches & Wonders, in addition to a more dynamic demand from
Asia for MICE for all over Europe. We look forward to welcoming events
from Asia and to make them benefit from our recently renovated meeting
spaces.”
The hotel has more than 1,000 sqm of meeting space offering 11
separate rooms with natural daylight and the larger Rhône river-view
rooms are decorated with mirrors on the ceiling to increase the
impression of space and reflect the daylight. Materials in light wood
and sound-absorbing wall fabrics reinforce the peaceful atmosphere. The
conference rooms are modular with movable partitions and can be adapted
to meeting formats and visitor requirements. Presentation screens are
discreetly integrated into the ceiling of each lounge and can be opened
on command. The lighting can also be adjusted as needed.
The hotel features 181 rooms and suites, with many suites enjoying
private terraces with supreme views of the river, Old Town and
snow-capped mountains.
Since 2021, the hotel has continued its efforts to eliminate
single-use plastic from the hotel’s operations. Aluminium soap
dispensers and packaging have been installed, room key cards are made of
lime wood and in-room water bottles are made of reusable glass. Energy
used is 100% renewable and the redesigned rooms and suites with Rhône
river views are now equipped with low-energy LEDs.
