Earlier this week, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) signed a management agreement with Công Ty Tnhh Mot Thanh Vien Đầu Tư Đông Sài Gòn DSG (DSG) for a newly built Holiday Inn & Suites in Ho Chi Minh City - the second Holiday Inn in Vietnam's commercial capital.

Slated for opening in 2021, Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Hi-Tech Park will offer 300 guest rooms, including 50 long-term stay suites, a convenient 20 minutes away from the Tan Son Nhat Airport and the upcoming Long Thanh Airport. Business travellers will also gain easy access to the city's technology hub, since the new establishment will be located in District 9, which houses key multinational business operations, such as Samsung's largest plant and the VietJet Aviation Centre. Downtown Saigon is also a quick metro ride away.

"As Vietnam's commercial capital and largest city, Ho Chi Minh City represents one of our key markets in the region," commented Serena Lim, vice president, development, South East Asia & Korea, IHG. "Last year, it welcomed nearly 6.4 million international tourist arrivals - a 23% increase since 2016, account for almost half of Vietnam's 12.9 million tourist arrivals. The city's fast-growing business and tourism sectors bode well for our strategic expansion in this market, and we know that Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Hi-Tech Park will be well-poised to meet the rising demand for internationally branded and reliable accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City."

As a mixed-use development, Holiday Inn & Suites Saigon Hi-Tech Park will offer guests with a variety of retail and lifestyle options, such as a full-fledged mall, driving range, as well as cultural park. There are also three dining outlets right within the building, complete with an outdoor pool, gym, spa and even an e-gaming facility.

Le Thein Giao, general director of Beton 6, a real estate developer and affiliate of DSG, said, "With a strong track record of operating great international hotels, we are delighted to work with IHG to grow our hospitality portfolio in this exciting market. The Holiday Inn brand is one of the world's most recognised hotel brands in the world, known for providing consistently comfortable and reliable accommodation across the globe. It would be a great addition to Ho Chi Minh City's rising technological hub. We are confident that our hotel will be well received amongst business and leisure guests alike when we open our doors in 2021."
