Hyatt has opened at a new address in the city of Xi'an in northwest China within the Xi'an High-Tech Industries Development Zone. The Grand Hyatt Xi'an has opened as part of the landmark Maike Center, which comprises high-end retail and offices.

The 396-room hotel connects to an office tower via a Sky Bridge 100m above ground, where visitors can take in 360-degree views of the metropolis below. The Xi'an Greenland PICO International Convention & Exhibition Center as well as Xi'an Qujiang International Conference Exhibition Center are situated nearby.

Inspired by a palatial mirage in the desert, the faceted exterior of the Grand Hyatt Xi'an shapes the entrance - a two-story atrium lobby topped with a triangular sloping glass roof. The hotel's interiors feature designs inspired by desert wildlife, geography and the culture of the modern Silk Road.

For meetings and events, planners will be able to access spaces spanning 2,314 sqm. A highlight is the oval-shaped 985-sqm Grand Ballroom and 321-sqm Grand Salon, where 360-degree graphics can be projected across a nearly 3-metre high curved LED screens. An additional 11 meeting rooms are available in varied sizes for business meetings or intimate social gatherings as well as a large open kitchen that offers a site for creative catering and networking.

Guests will be able to tuck into a variety of local to global fare at the hotel's five dining options - Grand Café, The Lounge, Chang'an Bridge Chinese Restaurant, Allegro Restaurant & Bar and the Maple House - which will be opened progressively in stages this year.

Leisure amenities include a 24-hour fitness centre, an indoor swimming pool and a spa on the sixth floor - to open in the summer 2018 - which offers  traditional Chinese-inspired massages and treatments.

To celebrate its opening, Grand Hyatt Xi'an is offering a special promotion.
