Far East Hospitality has announced that all 16 of its local hotels have achieved the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) certification, a globally recognised benchmark in sustainability, making it the hospitality group with the largest number of GSTC-certified sites in Singapore.

Arthur Kiong, CEO of Far East Hospitality, stated, "Achieving the GSTC certification is a significant milestone for our company. It reinforces our dedication to sustainability and demonstrates to our guests and clients that we are committed to upholding the highest standards of environmental stewardship and positive social impact.”

Far East Hospitality has credited its achievement – which comes ahead of the 2025 target set by the Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) – to its aggressive pursuit of sustainability initiatives, which have included the annual tracking and monitoring of energy, water, waste, and carbon emissions data.

The organisation has also created the Far More Sustainable framework, which encompasses initiatives to raise awareness about sustainability across its operations by encouraging guests to reuse towels and linens, implement a carbon offset platform, eliminate single-use plastic water bottles, and switch to large amenity dispensers.
