According to Rachael Harding, CEO, East and South Asia & Pacific markets, Club Med, the demand for MICE will continue to see an upward trend. “We expect to see a solid global rebound of 2.4 times the market compared to 2021. We wanted to revitalise our approach to MICE and keep it fresh with new ‘workations’ where travellers can mix work with leisure. This will also help teams to forge stronger bonds and increase productivity.”

Harding also shared that MICE in Asia has seen a 62 per cent increase in demand compared to 2021’s. “We are on the way to reaching the same pre-pandemic numbers in 2019.” Club Med targets corporate groups who are either on incentive travel trips or attending events such as product launches.

Club Med’s seamless approach in integrating work and leisure under one roof has created a demand for corporates who want “worktainment”. “These corporates often look for private spaces for their employees to reconnect with their teams, provide a travel incentive to bond and reward staff, and host team-building activities with short and efficient meetings,” said Harding.

She added that the option to fully rent out Club Med’s resorts is also increasingly attractive to companies that want an exclusive company retreat for their employees.

Club Med is mindful of post-pandemic safety protocols and has developed a Safe Together guest assurance programme with the support of Ecolab, a global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services.
