Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced it will be bringing its Andaz brand to Seoul's Apgujeong neighbourhood with the signing of an agreement with kt estate Inc. and HOTEL HDC Co., Ltd.
The new-built Andaz Gangnam, Seoul will add 241 rooms to the neighbourhood comprising of upscale retail shops, prestigious schools, and residential areas when it opens in 2019. The area also houses some of the country's biggest corporations and entertainment companies. The high-rise hotel is located blocks away from two subway stations.
"We are excited to showcase how the new Andaz hotel will integrate and complement Gangnam's unique character given it is a very attractive destination as it continues to develop into one of the most competitive cities for global leisure and business travel," said David Udell, group president, Asia-Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Amenities at the hotel include 6,458 sq ft of meeting space, an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge, pool and a fitness centre with three spa treatment rooms.
kt estate Inc. is a real estate corporation that has carried out various projects including Korea's first artificial intelligence apartments and business type rental house and also currently developing hotels with various high technology applications.
HOTEL HDC Co., Ltd is a subsidiary of Hyundai Development Company Engineering & Construction. Hyundai Development Company has worked with Hyatt in the past for Park Hyatt Seoul and Park Hyatt Busan.
