Since April 2017, Swissôtel The Stamford's external facade has been hidden behind layers of construction tarps, all in the name of its multi-million dollar overhaul. However, all of that is about to come to an end by late 2018, when new guest rooms, a contemporary hotel lobby and a new technology-enhanced check-in and check-out experience are unveiled at one of the most iconic hotels in Singapore's skyline.
With smart technology built in, the new hotel lobby will make it easier and more convenient than ever for guests to automatically check-in and check-out at counters. These counters also come with an industry-first biometric facial recognition technology, so all they have to do is to show up. The entire process will take less than a minute to complete.
Beyond checking in and out of the hotel, these counters also allow guests to perform room upgrades and explore various hotel promotions and services to enhance their stay. Payment and room key creation, too, can be done right there and then. These technological enhancements will be available in August 2018.
"We're excited that technology has paved the way for a large hotel like Swissôtel The Stamford especially, to be able to facilitate our guests' needs more efficiently and effectively," said Katya Herting, hotel manager, Swissôtel The Stamford. "The guest experience remains at the core of what we do daily. This check-in system not only ensures that we adhere to the necessary security compliance, it is also programmed with different check-in scenarios while remaining simple to use, this reducing waiting time during peak check-ins and check-outs. Ultimately, we hope our guests will make use of and find these smart innovations helpful in enhancing their overall experience."
The collective transformation of Swissôtel The Stamford covers 1,252 guest rooms and suites across three phases, as well as a completely refitted executive lounge that spans an entire floor on level 65. These will be subsequently unveiled later in 2018.
