Sands China wrapped up an action-packed week of basketball and entertainment, highlighted by the NBA China Games 2025, the opening of Macao’s first NBA Flagship Store, and immersive fan experiences at NBA House.
On-court thrills
The NBA China Games took place over two evenings, 10 and 12 October, at the Venetian Arena, featuring the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns. Fans were treated to thrilling contests, including standout performances from Nets stars Cam Thomas, Michael Porter Jr, and Nolan Traoré, and Suns players Devin Booker, Dillon Brooks, and Grayson Allen.
Pre-game and half-time entertainment added extra excitement, with performances from Korean dance crew Team BEBE and multi-instrumentalist Henry Lau.
Delighting fans
From 8 to 12 October, Macao’s first NBA House offered interactive experiences blending basketball, music, fashion, and technology. Fans met NBA legends Tim Hardaway Sr., Stephon Marbury, Shawn Marion, Shaquille O’Neal, Mitch Richmond, and Deron Williams, participated in basketball clinics, and attended viewing parties for the two NBA games.
Photo-friendly installations included the Larry O’Brien Trophy, Nets-themed infinity rooms, a Suns sneaker vault, and the whimsical G Bear exhibition with 40 statues spread across The Venetian Macao and The Londoner Macao. Visitors also enjoyed brand activations, lucky draws, and a retail district with 26 stores offering NBA apparel and customisation services.
Fan Day entertainment
On 11 October, NBA Fan Day featured Shaquille O’Neal, Nets and Suns players, dance teams, and celebrity performances by MC Jin and boy band members Keung To, Edan Lui, and Stanley Yau.
G Bear, the Londoner Macao’s “ambassador”, captured the hearts of visitors with his 40-installation exhibition, including inflatables of the mascot in Nets and Suns jerseys, plus NBA-themed merchandise available at pop-up locations.
Macao’s first NBA Flagship Store
The NBA Flagship Store, spanning over 900 sqm at The Londoner Macao, opened that same day The store features official NBA jerseys, apparel, footwear, sporting goods, collectibles, and city-inspired exclusive products. Visitors can also personalise jerseys, apparel, and sneakers, making it the only NBA store in the Greater Bay Area offering such a service.
Big timers talk business
The week concluded on 12 October with a fireside chat featuring Patrick Dumont, president & COO, Las Vegas Sands, David Beckham, Sands global ambassador, and Joe Tsai, co-founder & chairman, Alibaba Group, discussing the global impact of sports ownership.
Sands China reaffirmed its commitment to Macao’s City of Sports vision, promising continued delivery of world-class sporting events to the city.
