Growing participation: the 17th Tehran International Tourism & Related Industries Exhibition

AMI GROUP seeks to promote Iran as a tourism destination.

The 17th Tehran International Tourism & Related Industries Exhibition, an annual event in Iran’s tourism industry, returns from 12-15 February 2024 at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground. It is organised by Avaye Movafagh Iranian (AMI GROUP), an event management company specialising in exhibition and conference management.

From travel agencies and tour operators to hotels and airlines, the event offers networking sessions, seminars, workshops, and panel discussions, providing insights into the country’s current tourism landscape.

2023 post-show report:

· 13,379 total visitors

· 48 workshops

· 460 local participants from the 31 provinces of Iran

· 50 international journalists from 20 countries

· 37 international participants including those from Japan, Vietnam, China, Iceland, Ireland, Bahamas, South Africa, Turkey, Iraq, Qatar, and Libya

· Exhibition area: 19,201 sqm.

Upcoming show in 2024:

· More than 15,000 visitors

· More than 500 participants

· 53 workshops

· Exhibition area: 20,150 sqm

· International pavilions include Japan, Qatar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Russia and Tajikistan.

Goals of the show

The aim of the event is to promote Iran as a tourism destination, introduce Iran’s hotels, and to examine the strengths and weaknesses of the tourism industry, encouraging “tourism industry activists and relevant organisations to enter and expand activities in the tourism field”, stated AMI GROUP.

Event venue, the Tehran International Permanent Fairground, has more than 80,000 sqm of indoor space and 35,000 sqm of outdoor spaces. 34 exhibition halls host more than 70 different exhibitions every year.

Amenities and services include a customs office, bank, insurance, nine conference halls, Internet availability, restaurants, and other communication facilities. Four and five-star hotels are close to the exhibition and convention centre.

Tourism categories being represented at the show include hotels; tourism villages; travel agencies; investment, banks and insurance companies; associations; free trade zones; unique venues such as museums; and cultural heritage organisations. Also included are eco and nature, health, sport, and pilgrimage tourism segments.
