The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) has entered into a deal with Marriott International Malaysia to strengthen Malaysia’s position in the global business events market.
The two exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 2 December, witnessed by Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
Under the MoU, both organisations will work together to strengthen bid support and create new business opportunities; undertake joint sales missions, site inspections, and client engagements; share market insights and intelligence to enhance Malaysia’s visibility on the global stage; and attract more high-value MICE and major international sporting events to Malaysia.
The partnership aligns with MyCEB’s 2026 strategic plan, BE Malaysia Go Global: Unlocking New Markets, which focuses on expanding Malaysia’s international visibility and attracting high-value business events. The strategy targets both established and emerging markets, including the Middle East, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and rapidly growing destinations across South-east Asia.
