Penang will be hosting 150 business events and travel buyers from India on its first travel exchange event in September to promote the state as a business events destination.

Organised by Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), the Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE) was established to host select buyers from around the world on B2B sessions, site inspections, workshops and networking events.

"The first edition of PITE will see Penang hosting India's leading travel product, the Global Panorama Showcase (GPS), where it will be conducting its first Educational Destination Workshop-International (EDWIN) in Malaysia at PITE," said Ashwin Gunasekeran, CEO of Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau.

Held over five days from September 4-8, the buyers will be hosted on a B2B session with Malaysian Business Events and Tourism suppliers.

"PITE 2018 marks another significance for Penang as it is co-organised by Apollo Conferences, Penang's first homegrown professional conference organiser," said Gunasekeran.
