Bali venues take centre stage during G20 Summit

Major hotels like Mulia Bali and The Westin Resort Nusa Dua shone as venues where world leaders convened to discuss major global issues.

Mulia Bali was the venue of the historical meeting between Chinese President Xi Jin Ping with US President Joe Biden and other nations on the sidelines of the G20 leaders' summit.

Beachfront resort Mulia Bali hosted several heads of state for this year’s G20 summit, which took place in Indonesia earlier this month.

Located in Nusa Dua in Bali, the venue hosted the meeting between the President of China, Xi Jin Ping and Joe Biden, the US President, with other guests including the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, President of South Korea, Yoon Suk-Yeol and Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of Netherlands.

Mulia Bali has previously welcomed heads of state throughout the years and can host events for up to 5,000 people; earlier this year, it served as the venue for the G20’s Foreign Ministry meeting.

It said it is ‘truly honoured to have played an important role in this year’s G20 Summit and added that it was proud to have once again served the many delegates during the event. Mulia Bali has three distinct areas: the Mulia Resort, with dining, leisure and business facilities, The Mulia, a beachfront all-suite luxury accommodation, and Mulia Villas, a private sanctuary of pool villas.

The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, and Bali International Convention Centre (BICC), meanwhile, also hosted a series of high-profile meetings, press conferences and exhibitions, with all 433 of the resort’s guestrooms used by delegates.

BICC was transformed into a state-of-the-art media centre for national and international media agencies, with meeting spaces turned into offices, studios, VIP dignitaries’ exclusive venues, media lounges, and other functions to cater to the diverse needs of the summit’s participants. The Auditorium was also used to host high-level press conferences with the President of Indonesia, H.E Joko Widodo and other world leaders.

Sustainability was also front of mind at the event and venues, with the Westin Resort Nusa Dua’s parking area equipped with charging stations for electric vehicles during the week-long event. On the culinary front, dining options were exclusively prepared with the signature “Eat Well” philosophy in mind.
