MELBOURNE - Bigger and better. That's what the 2020 edition of Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME), the leading meetings and conventions event in the region, is looking to be after it released a performance update.

Organisers said that there is more diversity in business for hosted buyers and exhibitors attending in 2020. Hosted buyers are setting their sights on the upcoming event, with return on investment for 2020 their priority.

Following the success of 2019, with AIME awarded Best Trade Show of the Year, latest figures reveal 48% of hosted buyers attending have more than 20 events that need business fulfilled for the year ahead, with 45% confirmed to have annual event budgets of over US$1 million. A further 22% have confirmed they have annual budgets of US$2.5 million.

AIME is owned by Melbourne Convention Bureau and managed by Talk2 Media & Events. It will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on February 17-19, 2020.

"The hosted buyers confirmation numbers are tremendously positive to date - so much so that 2020 will see 78% of hosted buyers confirmed having not attended in 2019, and 55% having never attended AIME before," said Matt Pearce, CEO of Talk2 Media & Events, the organisers.

"We are shaping to be bigger and better than ever, with more opportunities for meaningful connections and ultimately larger returns on investment."
