SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC) will open three new SMX Trade Halls in Luzon in the fourth quarter of 2026, expanding its meetings and exhibitions capacity outside Metro Manila.
The new venues will be located in Cabanatuan (Nueva Ecija), Santo Tomas (Batangas) and Santa Rosa (Laguna), adding more than 13,000sqm of leasable exhibition space to Luzon.
The developments are positioned within established commercial hubs and are intended to support demand for regional trade shows, corporate events and large-scale gatherings. The expansion also forms part of a broader strategy to decentralise events activity and improve access to venues beyond the capital.
SMHCC said the facilities will feature flexible layouts and are integrated with adjacent retail and hospitality developments, allowing organisers to scale events and access on-site amenities.
The company currently operates multiple SMX Convention Center venues nationwide, alongside hotels and mixed-use developments under SM Prime Holdings.
The new trade halls are part of a wider pipeline of MICE and hospitality developments by SMHCC and parent company SM Prime. These include the SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu, expected to be the largest convention centre in the Philippines, and SMXCITE (Centre for International Trade and Exhibitions), a major expansion project in Manila that will add significant exhibition capacity.
