With regulations eased, the 2,400 sqm Namba Square is now available for event organisers to use for all kinds of events.
Osaka’s Namba Square, located in the bustling district of Namba, is aiming to establish itself as a premier location for outdoor events.
The 2,400 sqm pedestrianised space reopened in November 2023 in front of Namba Station, on the site of a former space that was previously used by taxis and other vehicles. Namba Station is directly connected to Kansai International Airport.
The space has since become a pedestrian-friendly base for exploring the town of Namba, making it the ‘entrance to hospitality in Osaka’, as it’s where visitors to Kansai and Osaka first encounter the city.
Regulations for use of the space were relaxed in December 2024 and it is now available for a range of events. According to Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, Namba is a must-visit location to experience the best that Osaka has to offer, being a bustling transportation hub and Osaka's vibrant centre of shopping and entertainment.
It said: “With already dozens of successful events held here, Namba Square is poised to become a premier location for diverse events, further elevating Namba's reputation as a vibrant and dynamic district.”
