Managed by Constellar (formerly SingEx-Sphere Holdings), Singapore EXPO & MAX Atria offers more than 123,000 sqm of space which can accommodate up to 19,000 guests.
Prominent pre-pandemic events included 'A Conversation with President Barack Obama', the Singapore FinTech Festival, Industrial Transformation Asia-Pacific — A HANNOVER MESSE Event, and Travel Malaysia 2019.
While Singapore has taken a calibrated approach to reopening with several successful hybrid event models tested in the last 12 months, the unstable nature of the pandemic has caused several false starts to the MICE industry — including cancelled large-scale events such as the World Economic Forum.
Singapore Expo was also temporarily repurposed as a community care facility in the early stages of the pandemic but later reopened, hosting its first in-person event, ITAP 2020, last October.
Now more than one year on, the Expo's surrounding carpark will be repurposed to house an outdoor go-kart track operated by KF1 Karting, an indoor badminton hall, and a new food village by Timbre+.
KF1 Karting, which has another venue at the Singapore Turf Club, noted on its Facebook page that the Expo play site will be Singapore's largest. Corporate events are welcome, starting from S$2,500 (US$1,830) per hour.
