The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) just got an
ultra-modern addition to its goodies, with a major overhaul and the
latest installation of two new LED screens.
These screens can double in size, creating a more immersive and
visually captivating experience for visitors, with a wide viewing angle
and flexible configurations ensuring that everyone in the room has
enhanced visibility. They are also 50% more energy-efficient,
contributing to the venue’s energy reduction targets.
In addition to the upgraded Plenary screens, MCEC has installed new
AMX control panels in all meeting rooms, including premium spaces. The
modern control panels offer an improved functionality and user
experience, allowing the presenter to control everything from room
lights to blinds, room temperature, speaker volume and music selections.
The new panels also have a light-sensing feature, catering to diverse
event requirements.
MCEC was one of the first global deliveries for the AMX control
panels, and currently has one of the largest fleets in Australia.
David Strangio, head of technology at the MCEC, says the technology
provides the perfect backdrop for collaboration, knowledge sharing and
transformative ideas.
“We source the latest technical innovations to deliver seamless and
customisable events, leaving a lasting impression on attendees. We’re
proud to work with industry-leading suppliers to take our tech offering
to the next level,” he said.
“Not only do we carry an extensive premium product range, we also
have a team of professionals who have deep technical expertise and
knowledge of our infrastructure. We’re proud to have such a diverse team
who understand what it takes to partner with our customers to design
and run a successful event,” he added.
MCEC’s in-house tech team offers full-service production capability
including in-person, digital and hybrid events, audio, vision,
multimedia, lighting and rigging solutions.
