Hikmah Exchange Event Centre: hosting the Malaysia Urban Forum 2023 in November.
Kuching’s latest MICE addition, Hikmah Exchange Event Centre is the
city’s latest event space for business, social and government events.
It has a ballroom for 2,000 guests, six function rooms for up to 150
pax per room, exhibition space for up to 500 pax, a sky terrace on level
14 for up to 200 pax, F&B outlets, and a heritage pavilion shop. It
was opened in October 2023.
The centre marks a significant milestone as Sarawak’s first smart
building. It will also house a station for the Autonomous Rapid Transit
(ART) service and transform the Satok area into a modern city,
encouraging growth and economic development.
The centre, developed by PSB, also features two 22-storey office
towers and houses 13 government agencies. The architectural design of
the centre incorporates elements such as the mosque Minaret, sirih
(betel) leaves, and veins of the betel leaf.
Dining at the venue.Recent events hosted include the four-day Malaysia Urban Forum 2023
(MUF 2023) in November which drew over 8,000 delegates, with the theme
‘Catalysing Transformative Action for Sustainability and Resilient
Urbanisation'. The MUF is a national-level forum that aims to promote
inclusive debates and discussions towards developing and improving
sustainable urban development in Malaysia.
The forum provides an exchange platform for stakeholders to share
solutions and ideas to address national and local urban development
challenges.
