The Lands by Capella opens its doors to events in February 2026.
Debuting in February 2026, The Lands by Capella is set to redefine luxury events in Sydney. Housed next door to Capella Sydney, the new venue will pair cutting-edge technology with sustainable design inside a newly restored heritage building.
Developed with flexibility and resource efficiency in mind, the spaces will feature adaptable layouts that minimise material use, maximise natural light, and reduce energy consumption. Advanced AV and lighting systems will support hybrid conferences and large-scale productions for interactive, globally connected events.
By creating smart, sustainable spaces that enhance luxury, The Lands by Capella aims to strengthen Capella Sydney’s position in the premium events market as demand grows for venues that merge heritage character, technology and responsible design practices.
General manager Marc von Arnim said: “We’re seeing a big shift in what people want from events. It’s not just about a beautiful room anymore – it’s about experiences. Guests want things that feel immersive and engaging, and planners need spaces that can handle in-person and virtual audiences with ease. The Lands by Capella does all of that, while connecting directly to Capella Sydney next door – with its luxury rooms, exceptional dining and wellness experiences – so you can create a whole event journey, not just a single occasion.”
The 535-sqm Capella Ballroom will host up to 400 guests and has arched cedar windows framing views of the Harbour Bridge.
The 350-sqm Liberty Ballroom will host smaller conferences, corporate events or private dinners for up to 120 guests.
Between the ballrooms sit the Meeting Suites – The Botanist, The Surveyors and The Explorers – for board meetings or breakouts.
“They can be opened up or sectioned off depending on what you need. The whole design is about flexibility, light and atmosphere. Everything feels connected and thought-through – whether you’re hosting a gala or a workshop, the setting really does half the storytelling for you,” added von Arnim.
Capella’s signature hospitality will be woven into every event at The Lands by Capella, with a dedicated team focused on details – from elegant grazing tables and chef-led stations to multi-course dinners highlighting native Australian ingredients.
